Ik heb hier nog een oude opdracht gevonden die ik voor school ooit eens moest maken. Het is helaas wel Engels, maar dat moet toch geen probleem zijn

..
At first I would like to point out that it is almost completely useless to keep drugs illegal, when talking about peoples health. The people who are keen on drugs will get them anway, legalized or not. We can’t prevent the people from taking drugs, therefore it’s way smarter to sell the drugs in a controlled environment. Such as smartshops, which are already existing in the Netherlands and in England.
Well, it’s quite obvious why this kind of situation would have lots of positive consequences. When people know what the exact chemical compounds in their substance are, there will be significantly fewer overdoses and drug incidents. It is already been proven that the Dutch drugpolicy is way more effective than the policy in the USA. Only 5% of the Dutch civilization has even been in touch with cannabis, where 35% in America is. An other consequence of this controlled selling drugs policy is no more intoxication by materials where the drugs are cut with. Many heroin users die of an overdose, because it’s cut with codeine.
One of the other major advantages of legalizing drugs will be the reduce in crime rate. There won’t be any dealers on the streets anymore, and neither any smugglers in planes. These criminal won’t cause any inconvenience anymore. With the crime rate being brought down significantly the government will have lots of extra money. They won’t have to control airports, track down drug mafia or spent man force to trouble causing junkies on the streets.
At last, by legalizing drugs there will be new companies developing. New pharmaceutical companies who are needed to synthesize the compounds needed for creating drugs like MDMA, Mescaline, LSD, etc etc. This will have some major positive economic consequences. New jobs will be created, the government can put taxes on the drugs.
